Back in 2012, Josh Reddick was an offensive force. It was his best season by far until 2015 rolled around. Reddick has had some minor injuries over the past few years that have limited his power at the plate. However, this season he is completely healthy and has proven that he has a very strong bat to compliment his Gold Glove defensive skills.

Last year, Reddick had a total of 54 RBI and 12 home runs over 109 games. At the halfway mark this season, Reddick already has 51 RBI and 11 homers. If he continues at this rate, he will nearly double the amount of RBI and long balls he hit in 2014 by the end of the season.

Even though he went through a bit of slump in June, his bat is beginning to get hot again and he is currently batting .294 for July. Additionally, despite his disappointment about not being in the lineup against left-handed pitchers, he is clearly more successful against righties. He is currently batting .325 against left handers with a .899 OPS.

As long as Reddick does not end up on the disabled list, he is about to have one of his best seasons since 2012. Hopefully his offensive success will soon start to benefit the Oakland Athletics as they try to dig themselves out of the hole. After such a successful first half, Reddick has shown that his bat is needed in the lineup on a daily basis.
