Ross Set To Start With Sacramento Triple A

It looks like pitcher Tyson Ross is coming off the DL and back onto playing field.  The Berkeley CA native has been cleared to play two rehabilition starting tonight for the Sacramento River Cats.

MLB.com is reporting that, “the righty will likely pitch four or five innings but wasn’t completely sure about how long he will be stretched out, something manager Bob Melvin said he would address after Wednesday’s game against the Marlins.”

Here’s my question.  If Ross comes does well in these first two starts with Triple A, then where does that leave Guillermo Moscoso?  Has his performance so far given A’s management good reason to keep him around for awhile?  He did pitch in Wednesday nights game against the Marlins and just fell short on defense giving Florida the 3-0 win.

On the other hand though his stats are at an even keel with Ross.   Currently, he has a 2.68 ERA, while Ross averages a 2.75.  Could Moscoso’s stats keep him in the game, or is Ross going to come right on back off the DL only to take his rightly place?   Will have to wait to find that out when Ross gets back on the mound in Sacramento and performs.  Even then, there may be a delay getting him back with the A’s due to the fact that the All Star break is coming up.  Although this tiny delay may benefit him to improve his game.   Let the waiting game begin.
