Video Of The Week: “Moneyball” Scores Big With Soundtrack

Perhaps one of the best things about Brad Pitt’s movie adaptation of Michael Lewis’ best-selling book Moneyball is the film’s uplifting and inspiring musical score. The film, which stars Pitt as Oakland A’s general manager Billy Beane, was written by Oscar-winning screenwriter Aaron Sorkin (Social Network) and was released in September.

The film, which closed out this past weekend (Oct. 28-30th) in the Top 10 of the box office, has made a cumulative total of $67,421,000 so far.

The film’s soundtrack was composed by Mychael Danna, who in my opinion, at least, put a very solid score together. This is a movie about a group of undervalued baseball players, what would the movie be without some inspiring and uplifting music to go with that story?

In addition to the superb script and amazing performances from Pitt, Jonah Hill, and Phillip Seymour Hoffman, the musical score helps make “Moneyball” stand out, to me, as one the best films of the year.

If you haven’t already listen to Danna’s incredible work with the soundtrack, push play below on the following video and be amazed by this guy’s work.
