After four-plus months out of the game, I am back writing again here on Swingin’ A’s. For those of you who may not remember me, my name is Joseph Lopez and I served as SA’s Editor from February 2010-April 2012 and later served as a Senior Staff Writer from May-June 2012. I have also served as a Featured Columnist for the A’s community over at Bleacher Report. With my academic career coming to a close and my workload settling down, my free time has increased and I am eager to start writing again. My passion for writing runs deep and my love for the game of baseball is undying. A lot has changed since I left the site back in June, I’m sure. For one, the A’s are once again a relevant team in baseball.

The A’s played their hearts out this year and while the season ended a little too early for my taste, the green-and-gold showed an undying spirit and love for the game of baseball in 2012.

To have the opportunity to follow the green-and-gold and to write about them once again is, in a word, incredible. While I have been out of the game for the last four-plus months, my goal as a writer has not changed. My goal is to produce some of the most creative, insightful, and original articles that you’ll find out there in the A’s blogosphere. That was my goal from day one and it has not changed.

As a reader I hope you find the work produced by myself and by this site to be insightful and original. As always, I encourage you, the reader, to voice your opinion and let us know what you think about the work being produced. Thanks again for your continued support! It is great to be back!
