Let the “Madness” begin A’s fans. It has been a long and successful season filled with plenty of ups and downs. Fans have witnessed the highs and lows of each player throughout the 162 game season. A season that most fans had high expectations for after a remarkable run to the 2012 Western Division Championship, and an exciting but disappointing crash landing in Game 5 versus Detroit in the Divisional Series. The 2012 season may not of had the “Story Book” ending that A’s fans wanted, but it did raise the excitement level and anticipation of a great 2013 season to new heights. Well the A’s did not disappoint. This season was different from 2012 most would agree, but the outcome was still tremendous. The team that had fans sitting on the edge of their seats while waiting for those late-inning walk off wins, that symbolized the 2012 season, was replaced by one of the most consistent teams in MLB. The A’s posted a winning record in every month of the season, and thanks to a strong bullpen led by Ryan Cook, Sean Doolittle and Grant Balfour made a lot of those late inning heroics unnecessary this season. So even though the A’s had a fantastic year, and actually won 96 games this year compared to the impressive 94 they won last year, most would agree the excitement level didn’t quite match the craziness the 2012 season provided.

Here comes the 2013 playoffs. The time for A’s fans to unleash all the madness and enthusiasm that wasn’t unleashed in the regular season. Last year A’s fans felt wronged by the post-season scheduling, which had the A’s playing the 1st two games in Detroit even though it was Oakland who was supposed to have the home field advantage. That is not an issue this playoff season with the 1st two games being played on the home field of the team with the better overall record, and that happens to be the team wearing the Green and Gold your Oakland Athletics. So A’s fans it’s time to show the Nation what the “Balfour Rage” is all about. Time to let the Nation know the Madness of what 45,000 ( thanks to the removal of the tarp) crazy A’s fans can bring to the playoff party. So prepare those vocal chords and get those authentic wild signs ready and let the baseball world know that no other fan base can “Rock” a stadium like A’s fans can. Let’s Go Oakland!.
