Tyler Ladendorf Suspended 50 Games
The office of the Commissioner of Baseball has announced that Tyler Ladendorf, infielder for Oakland Athletic’s minor league affiliate Sacramento River Cats, has been suspended for 50 games after a second positive result for a “drug of abuse”.
Tyler Ladendorf, 26, has been affiliated with the Athletics since 2009 when he began playing with the single-A Kane County Cougars. In that time he has bounced around from Kane County to Midland to Sacramento and back again playing the most games at the AA level. His career average in Sacramento is .272 with two home runs and 41 RBI’s.
Our very own Jason Burke recently speculated a possible swap of Eric Sogard for Ladendorf in the Athletics ever evolving platoon system but it looks like that speculation can be put to rest for a couple of months as Tyler does his time.
