I’ve written about this before, so I won’t go as in-depth on this one, but I’m a believer in the idea that your best hitter should bat second. More at-bats for your best hitter seems like a pretty clear good plan to me.
In terms of his defense, even if he’s dinged up, I guarantee he won’t let it affect him in this game. He will go all-out, and if that means making a wild throw, so what. His incredible range and effort make up for that any day, so don’t worry about his scary number of errors for the year.
