For those unfamiliar with the Bill Murray movie “Groundhog Day,” his character becomes trapped in a time loop and relives the same day over and over. What do Bill Murray, Groundhog Day, and the Oakland Athletics have to do with one another? There are many days A’s fans would love to relive, if only to change the chain of events or poor decisions made.

In honor of Groundhog Day, and the awesome movie staring Bill Murray, I posed this question on Twitter:

If you could change one moment/game for the #Athletics, what would it be? #GroundhogDay -Jennifer Trumpp (@JenniferTrumpp) February 2, 2015

There were several answers I expected to here but there were plenty of unique responses. Here they are:

Game 1 of the 88 World Series – Gibson HR. Changed the whole series mojo. A’s then up 2 games to 1 with 2 more to go at home -@RichPaloma

Jeremy “no slide” Giambi. That game made Jeter look like a Titan. I’m still pissed. #NevetGettingOverIt -@RobertLorigan

The 8th inning of the 2014 WC game. Ugh! -@TheOaklandBlaze

this is easy, Jeremy Giambi, SLIDE YOU IDIOT! !!!!!!! -@1989w7373

The home run Eck gave up to Gibson in the 1988 World Series. I still dislike the Dodgers and Tommy Lasorda. -@Zfranz15

Byrnes actually tags home. Or Tejada gets to 3rd. That Boston series stings worse than Giambi’s no slide. -@d_fraz61

in history: Gibson, Kirk. for 2014: trading Addison away -@Wipps

list Billy Beane as “out for the season” a week before the the Cespedes trade. -@mikeybythesea
