Some time between Oakland Athletics FanFest and today’s Face of MLB “contest” (yes, I know it’s stupid but if they’re going to do it, we might as well win) the finest tweeters in baseball have been getting a little restless for some baseball. Bay area football has been dead for weeks, basketball conversations are short “oh, the Warriors won again?” and hockey is the same as it ever is here. So we’re left trying to pass the time with our baseball loving friends and that means we’re taking to Twitter and playing hashtag games.
What games did A’s tweeters play? Well, there was the always classic “Turn an A’s Player’s Name Into Food” which yielded clever tweets like:
A delicious face of MLB.

And the winner for the food hashtag and the followup hashtag.

We also played “Athletics Movie Title” and remembered our favorite classic A’s movies like:

I don’t know if I’m prepared to take this abuse from a Rangers fan.

As always, the A’s tweeters provide entertainment during the slowest most boring portion of the off season, the break between FanFest and spring training. I look forward to seeing what hashtag they come up with next. #AthleticsBeatlesSongs hint hint.
