If Verlander’s 2015 season saw him go 0-20 with a 10.8 ERA, A’s fans would still hate him. He’s the guy on the mound for two consecutive playoff losses. Had he pitched for the national league, who knows how far we could have gone in 2012 and 2013.
So fans of the Oakland Athletics hate him because he’s our Kryptonite and men around the world hate him because he snagged that girl from those Game of War commercials. There’s no guarantee of when we may see Verlander in 2015 but the odds of us hitting Detroit’s rotation the day after he’s pitched every time seem slim.
