Swingin’ A’s seeks new writers, Oakland Athletics fans

Swingin’ A’s has steadily grown as FanSided’s home for Oakland Athletics coverage dating back to when the site was first launched in early 2009. The A’s have seen the full gamut of on-field successes and failures in that time, and our staff here on site has been here to cover it all. The constant has always been our goal here on site: to give you folks, our readers, the very best Oakland Athletics discussion that we possibly can.

Currently, the A’s are struggling through a tough season, but as is always the case, Billy Beane has a hand to play with at the trade deadline and he is sure to make some noise as the season unfolds.  Additionally, the A’s may have some fight still left in them and a run may not be out of the question. As such, we want to hit each and every season with a head of steam like no other. We need your help to do that.

Consider yourself a passionate fan? Read us or other A’s sites with regularity and ever wonder if you should write about the team too? Maybe you’re just stumbling across us for the first time and you like what you see. We are looking to add to our staff here on site and this could be your chance to grab a bat and join the team.

Swingin’ A’s is currently looking to fill multiple roles on site, from paid a co-editor position to staff writer roles for the more casual writers just getting their legs under them.

Expectations

We like to let our staff write about the aspects of the team they are most passionate about. There’s room for those interested in covering prospects, the Major Leagues, trade rumors, game recaps, or anything else associated with the Athletics. If you love the A’s and have a voice to share, we want you on our team!

More from White Cleat Beat

Writers are asked to contribute 1-2 posts per week. We’ll always welcome more frequent contributions than that, but we won’t require it.

We know that for most this is mostly a hobby and something you do for the love of it. That’s why we do it too, as most of us have families, full-time careers, and/or school to balance into our lives as well (there’s room for things besides sports, right?). This is an opportunity to join a staff of writers here who are just simply passionate about the A’s and want to continue to reach the rest of this great fan base.

Want to join us?

Applying is very easy. Head on over and complete an application. It’ll give you a chance to share some insight into your background (prior online writing experience is not necessary but always encouraged) and let us know why you’d be a fit on site, so give it your best. We’ll be in touch from there.

If you have any questions about the roles, please feel free to email kyle.franzoni@fansided.com with any questions.
