Even though the 2015 season is not over, the Oakland Athletics made significant trades in July and stocked their farm system with so many young players that it is hard not to think about how next year’s roster will look. This is especially true for the potential starting rotation in 2016. The Oakland Athletics currently have 11 starters on their 40-man roster with countless other starting pitching prospects in the minor leagues.

From veterans like Jarrod Parker and A.J. Griffin to new acquisitions like Sean Manaea and Aaron Brooks, there are many different combinations for potential starting rotations that could materialize for the 2016 season. With a handful of pitchers injured at the moment, it is hard to know for sure who will be available come spring training next year. However, it is clear that the Oakland Athletics will have options when it comes to picking their starting five.

It may be a little early to start thinking about next season, but, with the Athletics out of the postseason race for this year, it is time to look positively toward the future. So, who will likely make the 2016 starting rotation and who will probably not?
