Swingin’ A’s seeks new writers, Oakland Athletics fans
Swingin’ A’s has steadily grown as FanSided’s home for Oakland Athletics coverage dating back to when the site was first launched in early 2009. The A’s have seen plenty of changes to their roster in that time frame, not to mention the full gamut of on-field successes and failures, and the staff here has been a steady part of those ups and downs. The constant has always been our goal here on site: to give you folks, our readers, the very best Athletics discussion that we possibly can.
The 2015 season is rapidly approaching and as Billy Beane’s club prepares for a painless end to their season, we’re also looking to get ready for the coming year. That is where you come in.
Consider yourself a passionate fan? Read us or other A’s sites with regularity and ever wonder if you should write about the team too? Maybe you’re just stumbling across us for the first time and you like what you see. We are looking to add to our staff here on site and this could be your chance to grab a bat and join the team.
Expectations
We like to let our staff write about the aspects of the team they are most passionate about. There’s room for those interested in covering the minor leagues. Maybe you’re more of a transaction junkie and you want to talk about the impact a new signing could have. Or even just chipping in on series previews, roundtable discussions on staff about how the team should approach the trade deadline or whether Sonny Gray becomes trade bait this winter, or helping with a number of other potential story ideas there could be a place for you here on the team.

Writers are asked to contribute 1-2 posts per week. We’ll always welcome more frequent contributions than that, but we won’t require it.
We know that for most this is mostly a hobby and something you do for the love of it. That’s why we do it too, as most of us have families, full-time careers, and/or school to balance into our lives as well (there’s room for things besides baseball, right?). This is an opportunity to join a staff of writers here who are just simply passionate about the Athletics and want to continue to reach the rest of this great fan base.
