A’s 2016 Minor League Coaching Assignments Announced

On Monday, the Oakland Athletics announced their minor league coaching assignments for 2016, as reported by Jane Lee on MLB.com. The majority of the staff will remain the same, but there were two new hires, as well as changes at the lower levels.

Gil Patterson will return to the A’s as their minor league pitching coordinator, after three years in the Yankees organization under the same role. Patterson was a pitching instructor in the A’s farm system for five years before leaving for the Yankees, and the Athletics are lucky to have him back in the organzation.

Jim Eppard also joins the A’s this season, with the title of minor league hitting coordinator. Previously, he spent two seasons with the Angels as an assistant hitting coordinator.
