The Oakland A’s fanbase may not exactly be enamored with Kyler Murray, but the feeling of disdain is not mutual. Murray has been seen wearing an A’s hat on occasion, showing that he still has love for the team that drafted him on the baseball side.

That love continued on Saturday. He was wearing his own A’s jersey in a brief clip aired by the Arizona Cardinals Twitter account before their game.

Kyler Murray still have love for Oakland A’s

One could understand why Murray bypassed his commitment with Oakland. The A’s had allowed him to return to college for to get one last season on the gridiron when his professional stock exploded. He ended up winning the Heisman Trophy and was selected by the Arizona Cardinals with the first overall pick.

That choice has certainly worked out for Murray. He was named to the Pro Bowl in each of his first two seasons in the NFL and has the Cardinals on the cusp of returning to the postseason. As he is likely in line for a gigantic contract in the coming years, he made the right choice for his future.

But that does not mean Murray is entirely done with the game. He has repetitively expressed an interest in playing professional baseball at some point even though his contract with the Cardinals does not permit him to. That does not mean that he cannot dream of being a two sport star at some point in the future.

If that happens, it may be with the A’s. The A’s still own his rights and could end up eventually getting Murray on the diamond. Even if it is only for spring training, it would be more than anyone could have hoped for when he declared for the NFL Draft.

Kyler Murray clearly still has a soft spot in his heart for the Oakland A’s. Maybe, someday, he will be able to wear that jersey on the diamond.
