The MLB lockout has been frustrating for everyone involved. Those frustrations grew even more on Thursday when the latest “meeting” between the two sides lasted for approximately 20 minutes. While there was a side session afterwards, absolutely nothing was accomplished.

But there may be a way to end the stalemate. Oakland A’s pitcher Chris Bassitt has the perfect solution to not only end the animosity in negotiations, but to make a deal come together within minutes.

Chris Bassitt not wrong with his proposal

At least the two sides are starting to work with some sense of urgency. They are planning on holding multiple bargaining sessions beginning on Monday as they look to start the season on time. The two sides may even hold multiple bargaining sessions each day!

But none of this really should have been necessary. The lockout was supposed to spur negotiations forward, but only led to the league waiting for nearly a month and a half to begin the process. Now they are fighting a losing battle against time to try to pull everything together.

Bassitt has the right idea. Get the wives of the players and owners in a room and let them hash things out. Chances are, they will realize how ridiculous some of these arguments are, find a middle ground, and just tell their husbands where to sign. It would certainly get the season to start on time, allow spring training to happen, and stop the nonsensical ego trip that both sides are on.

Chris Bassitt feels that it is time to send the wives in to make a deal to end the lockout. He is absolutely correct in that thought.
