Angels not being sold great news for Oakland A's fans

There is no secret that the fans want John Fisher to sell the Oakland A's.

Fisher's lack of commitment to the area, the fans, the roster, and putting a winning team on the diamond has been frustrating. He has been far more interested in making as much of a profit as possible, not caring one iota about what others think. The only hope is that Fisher will decide that he can make even more money by selling the franchise than he can by trying to bleed the fans dry.

Angels provide sliver of hope for Oakland A's fans

Those hopes had appeared to have taken a hit in August 2022. Arte Moreno, owner of the Los Angeles Angels, indicated that he was looking to sell the franchise. The likes of Joe Lacob, owner of the Golden State Warriors and someone who had previously been interested in purchasing the A's, were expected to be amongst the suitors for the ballclub.

But hope springs eternal once more. Moreno announced that he is no longer looking to sell the team, that he and his family will own the Angels for the 2023 season and beyond. While it is possible that he did not get the type of offers he was looking for, it does not change the fact that this is the best news A's fans have had in years.

It is worth noting that there is no indication that Fisher is going to sell the A's. However, the ongoing battle with the Howard Terminal Project, a possible move to Las Vegas, and the lease at the Colesium coming to an end in two years may be more than he wants to deal with. Maybe, just maybe, he will look at the possible profit he cam make from selling the team as being the better option.

Arte Moreno is no longer looking to sell the Los Angeles Angels. That news could be a positive for the Oakland A's, especially if John Fisher looks to get out of town.
