Despite a constant barrage of heckling and the use of language that would make a long shoreman uncomfortable, Brandon Moss played exceptionally well. He hit for the cycle with two home runs and had a defensive showing the likes of which were never seen from the first baseman before. After every great defensive play, he’d shoot Jennifer a little wink which only encouraged her to heckle him further. It was a tough game for any A’s fan to watch.
After the game, Reddick found Jennifer in the crowd and called her over.
“You shouldn’t have given him that card. He’s going to be like this all season, now. But, I’m going to play extra hard for you and make sure that we get you a World Series to come watch in Oakland.”
“I’d like that very much, Mr. Reddick.”
“You wanna touch my afro?”
“Coco, we’re trying to have a moment here!”
