More from Oakland A's News

Game two marks the first loss for the Oakland Athletics in 2015. Sogard, who is coming off of a fantastic spring, batted in the two spot and finished day two of the season with a .286 average, an RBI and a .661 OPS. In 2014, it took Sogard 10 games to bat in two runners (both RBI’s coming on the same day) and his OPS was only above .661 for three days. He could be a quiet but critical component to the team this year. To be certain, however,

Ike Davis

is the real deal at first base and should prove to be a fan favorite as the season progresses.

The Oakland Athletics offense did not come alive as it did last night and the defense lacked a little of the hustle that dazzled fans on opening night. Brett Lawrie managed to grab what will now be known as the Immaculate Sombrero for snagging four strike outs on just 12 pitches, the bare minimum a batter can see without actually putting a ball in play. The lone run was courtesy of a sacrifice by Eric Sogard and Sam Fuld tripled again putting him on pace for 162 triples for the season. I would put my money on the under for that bet.
